Report a Safeguarding Concern

Safeguarding Guidance and Form

At Onyx Student Support, the safety and wellbeing of students and vulnerable adults is extremely important to us.

If you are reporting a safeguarding concern, please know that you are doing the right thing. Safeguarding concerns can sometimes feel difficult to raise, but sharing information helps ensure the right support and protection can be put in place.

Our team treats all safeguarding concerns seriously, sensitively, and confidentially. Information will only be shared with appropriate professionals where it is necessary to protect someone’s safety.

If Someone Is in Immediate Danger

If there is immediate risk of harm, please contact emergency services first.

  • Call 999 for emergency police, ambulance, or fire services

  • If urgent but not life-threatening, you can contact NHS 111 or your local GP

You can still complete this form afterwards so that our safeguarding team is aware.

If the Concern Involves Suicidal Thoughts or Self-Harm

Onyx Student Support is not a crisis service and we cannot provide emergency mental health support through this form. This form is only monitored during our office hours.

If you or someone else needs urgent emotional support, please consider contacting:

  • Samaritans – Call 116 123 (24/7)

  • CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably) – Call 0800 58 58 58 (5pm–midnight)

  • Papyrus HOPELINEUK – Call 0800 068 4141 (under 35s)

  • Childline – Call 0800 1111 (under 19)

If someone has seriously harmed themselves or is in immediate danger, please call 999 or go to A&E immediately.
